Stade is located at the
Elbe river and at the federal
highways B73 (Hamburg-Cuxhaven) and B74
(Bremervörde/Bremen) as well. Travellers using route
B73 from Hamburg should be patient, traffic
jams are usual.
Unfortunately a direct connection to the German "Autobahn"-system (route A7) is not in sight. But a first step is done: Since October 2008 you can change from B73 to A26 at Horneburg. This 11km on the new "Autobahn" will bring you to Stade.
